Our Vision
Heart for the World Church was established in 1997. Pastor Dale and Sharon Walker were led to move from El Paso, Texas; where they had pioneered, founded and led a church called Vineyard Church of Northeast El Paso for 20 years. Dale felt that God spoke clearly to his heart that Las Cruces would be the land of their anointing for the next season of their life. The vision the Lord gave at the very beginning included a vision of a great river of revival being poured out in Las Cruces and flowing down the Rio Grande Valley causing life to spring up wherever it went.
The Lord also gave a vision of a belt that went around the globe with the buckle being in Las Cruces. Dale felt God was promising a world wide ministry that would have its headquarters in Las Cruces.
Before coming to Las Cruces, Dale and Sharon had also founded a missions' organization called Heart for the World International. Heart for the World is involved in evangelism, church planting, and training pastors and leaders by taking teams from the U.S. and Japan to go out on short term missions throughout the year.
The church met several places over the years while praying that God would give us our own facility. We had a clear word from the Lord that He would give us a World Outreach Center. God had spoken a word to Dale on a mission trip in which He said, “Because you have built my house in the nations, I will build you (the church) a house to bless you and the nations.” Through several miracles Heart for the World Church moved into its present location in August 2008.
We believe God has given us an amazing destiny as a church. In summary, we believe our destiny is to bring a light to every neighborhood in our city and to witness to every nation in our world. That’s why we call ourselves,
“a neighborhood CHURCH on a worldwide mission.” |
